To the Whistling Trout Society Members & Friends:
I've been thinking about this last year and realize that
I'm the most fortunate person to have all you people as my friends for
the last 25 years.
I am really looking forward to this years fishing trip.
I have many fond memories with all of you. Some of these memories include
Steve Walgren falling into the river twice in a row, in the same spot.
Scott catching his 24# salmon with this dad. Steve & Neil catching
their first steelhead by pinning it against the bank. Dave running down
the river to net a fish that broke my line. The northern lights that came
down into the trees at the cabin. And of course, you guys asking me to
tell you a brookie story. I will treasure these many memories, which I
have of each of you. I truly hope that we continue this for many years
together. I enjoy all of you, from the old original, to the new people
you invite every year.
This year, as in the last two years I'm using my fly rod.
If anyone wants to bring a fly rod I'll help you get started. It's truly
a new way to catch these fish and much more of a challenge. You don't
land a lot but what a feeling when you do.
I'll be going Thursday morning 10-02 to Sunday. Please let
me know if you can't come. I'll at least get to talk to you or leave a
note on our Journal on the website.
See you at the cabin!
